Istanbul: Trkiye’s 12-month rolling exports reached an unparalleled level of $267 billion in June, as announced by Turkish Trade Minister Omer Bolat on Wednesday. The month of June alone saw the country’s exports rise by 8% to a total of $20.54 billion. Meanwhile, imports during the same period rose by 15.3%, reaching $28.7 billion, according to data from the Trade Ministry.
According to Anadolu Agency, the foreign trade gap for Trkiye stood at $8.17 billion in June, with an export-import coverage ratio of 71.5%. Bolat highlighted during a press conference in Istanbul that the 8% increase in exports was the most significant rise observed in the past year.
In the first half of the year, from January to June, Trkiye’s exports increased by 4.1%, totaling $131.44 billion. Imports for the same period amounted to $180.87 billion, marking a 7.2% year-on-year increase. The country recorded a foreign trade deficit of $49.43 billion over the six-month period, with an export-import coverage ratio of 72.7%.
