Trkiye Records $46.9 Billion in Tourism Revenue Through September.

Ankara: Trkiye’s tourism revenues reached $46.9 billion in the first nine months of 2024, marking a 6.6% increase compared to the same period last year, as reported by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) on Thursday. The growth in tourism revenue highlights the country’s appeal to international visitors and its ongoing recovery in the tourism sector.

According to Anadolu Agency, from January to September, Trkiye welcomed over 48 million visitors, an 8.3% rise from the previous year. Despite the increase in visitor numbers, the average expenditure per capita fell by 1.6% to $970 during this period.

In the third quarter alone, Trkiye generated $23.2 billion in tourism revenue, signifying a 3.9% year-on-year increase. During this period, 23.2 million tourists visited the country, an increase of 3.5%, with their expenditures per capita averaging $1,001.
