Ankara: Trkiye on Saturday marked a special anniversary, reaffirming its dedication to strengthening its ties with the entire African continent and all its countries.
According to Anadolu Agency, the country’s Foreign Ministry issued a statement on the twentieth anniversary of Trkiye obtaining observer status at the African Union. The statement emphasized Trkiye’s commitment to its relations with the continent, highlighting principles of mutual respect, equal partnership, and win-win strategies.
The statement noted Trkiye’s satisfaction in strengthening cooperation with the African Union since 2005 and achieving Strategic Partner status in 2008. It also expressed the country’s intention to continue implementing projects that benefit both parties, aligning with the African Union’s Agenda 2063.
The upcoming fourth Trkiye-Africa Partnership Summit, scheduled for 2026, was highlighted as a significant opportunity to further enhance cooperation. Trkiye pledged to remain a reliable partner for the African Union and African countries, working together towards a future of peace and prosperity.
