THREE MORE TURKISH SOLDIERS KILLED IN HAKKARI PROVINCE CLASHES

ISTANBUL, -- The death toll, suffered by the Turkish military during clashes with operatives of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) in Hakkari province late Friday, had increased to eight soldiers thus far, said the army Saturday.

According to a statement by the Turkish army, the number increased due to three soldiers succumbing to their injuries. The previous announced tally was five soldiers.

There are some 19 Turkish soldiers injured in the clashes which resulted from a PKK attack on an army unit combing an area in Hakkari province.
