Syrian National Army Captures Key Airport in Aleppo, Disrupts PKK/YPG Logistics Line.

Aleppo: As part of its ongoing Operation Dawn of Freedom, the Syrian National Army (SNA) seized control of the Kuweires Military Airport in Aleppo on Sunday, a strategic move that cuts off a crucial logistics line for the PKK/YPG terror group between Tel Rifaat and Manbij.

According to Anadolu Agency, the SNA’s capture of the Kuweires Military Airport comes in response to the PKK/YPG’s attempt to create a terror corridor stretching from Tel Rifaat to northeastern Syria. The airport, which is equipped with military aircraft and air defense systems, had previously been targeted multiple times by Israeli forces.

In addition to the airport, the SNA successfully took control of three villages and a hill from terrorists in Tel Rifaat, further thwarting the PKK/YPG’s plans. This operation is part of a broader strategy by the SNA to counter the PKK/YPG’s movements and prevent the establishment of a terror corridor in northern Syria.

The situation in the region has been tense, as anti-regime armed groups have recen
tly captured Aleppo, Syria’s second-largest city. The Syrian regime, having lost significant territories, sought assistance from the PKK/YPG, which allowed the terror group to gain ground and facilitated the transportation of heavy weaponry and terrorists from east of the Euphrates to Aleppo.

The PKK/YPG’s occupation of Tel Rifaat, supported by Russian airstrikes, led to the displacement of approximately 250,000 civilians, who fled towards areas near the Turkish border. From Tel Rifaat, the terror group launched attacks on settlements within regions secured by Operation Euphrates Shield and Operation Olive Branch, targeting both Turkish security forces and opposition fighters.

The SNA’s Operation Dawn of Freedom, which disrupted the PKK/YPG’s logistics line, highlights the ongoing conflict dynamics in Syria, where multiple factions vie for control amid shifting alliances and territorial disputes.
