Switzerland felt 1.5C warmer spring in 2023

The spring in Switzerland, which is normally cool and rainy, was 1.5C above the average temperatures this year, according to local media.

SRF television reported on Sunday that temperatures in the south of the country were even warmer, with 2C above the average from the three decades between 1961 and 1990.

Temperatures throughout the country, especially in March, were about 3C degrees higher than normal. The temperature measured in the northwestern city of Basel on March 13 - 23.4C (74.12F) - was a record.

According to the report, record rainfall has also been recorded in central and eastern Switzerland.
