Estonian President Alar Karis is paying Cyprus a three-day official visit, from March 26 to 28, Government Spokesperson Konstantinos Letymbiotis told the press, after a meeting of the Cabinet on Tuesday.
The Spokesperson said that President Karis is arriving on the island today, accompanied by his spouse, and will be received at the Presidential Palace by President Nikos Christodoulides, tomorrow morning.
After the official welcome ceremony, President Christodoulides and his Estonian counterpart will have a private meeting, followed by extended talks by the delegations of the two countries and statements to the press.
Afterwards, the Estonian President will arrive at the House of Representatives and then will return to the Presidential Palace for an official lunch.
In the afternoon, according to Letymbiotis, the Estonian President will visit the Green Line in Nicosia, the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the University of Cyprus. A dinner will be hosted in the evening by the Chamber of Commerce

On March 28, the President of Estonia will visit the Committee on Missing Persons and the Cyprus Center for Land Open Seas and Port Security (CYCLOPS), before departing the island.
US Sanctions, Amalthea initiative

In response to a question about the US sanctions, in light of a meeting the President of the Republic had with the US Ambassador earlier today, the Spokesperson said that there is close cooperation and the President has requested the specialized services to deal with the avoidance of sanctions and also with regards to the international reputation of Cyprus.
He also said that the meeting with the US Ambassador was to discuss also the visit of US officials within the framework of the “Amalthea” initiative for Gaza and an exercise that is taking place today and tomorrow, regarding the humanitarian corridor.
Replying to another question, whether the second ship with humanitarian aid to Gaza will depart Cyprus today, he said that an update on the issue is expected.
He said that he will make
announcements once he has more information, pointing out that weather conditions and safety are taken into account.
