Slovak MFA on official visit to Cyprus

Slovakia’s Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Juraj Blanár will pay an official visit to Cyprus on Thursday, May 9, following an invitation by his Cypriot counterpart Constantinos Kombos.

In a press release on Tuesday the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the two Ministers will have a private meeting to be followed by consultations with the participation of delegations from the two Ministries. Afterwards they will make statements to the press.

The Ministers, the press release added, “will discuss the bilateral relations between Cyprus and Slovakia, the Cyprus problem, as well as a number of other issues that are of interest to the two countries at a European level.”

The Ministers will also exchange views on current international issues, focusing on the situation in the Middle East and Ukraine.

During his stay in Cyprus, Blanár will be received by the President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides and will attend an emblematic event for the 20th anniversary of the accession of Cyprus to the EU,
the press release concluded.
