Slovak Embassy blood donation initiative takes place at Engomi Blood Center

The seventh round of a blood donation initiative organised by the Slovak Embassy in Cyprus took place at the Engomi Blood Center on Friday.

According to a press release of the Embassy, three Embassy staff, 22 Slovak troops and one Slovak police officer serving in UNFICYP donated blood during this event.

“The Slovak Embassy in Nicosia is the only diplomatic mission in Cyprus and the Slovak Contingent (SLOVCON) the only national UNFICYP contingent that are regularly donating the precious liquid to help saving health and lives of Cypriot residents,” the Embassy notes, adding that, since the first event back in June 2022, a total of 221 Slovak donors have participated in this regular event, donating more than 130 litres of blood.

Today’s event was attended by the Ambassador Martin Bezák, the Slovak Contingent (SLOVCON) Commanding Officer Lt. Col. Katarína Gargalíková and the Slovak UN Police Unit Commander Lt. Col. Martin Ševcík.
