Shipping Deputy Minister Marina Hadjimanolis met with senior executives of the Royal Caribbean company in Miami, USA, presenting the competitive advantages and services provided by the registration of ships under the Cypriot flag, as well as the establishment of a shipping company in Cyprus.
Hadjimanolis, a statement says, paid Miami an official visit from January 17 to 21, in the context of contacts with groups active in the cruise sector. ??e Deputy Minister met the President and CEO of the company Michael Bayley and they confirmed Royal Caribbean’s intention to strengthen its cooperation with the Deputy Ministry of Shipping.
Hadjimanolis also explored the prospects for co-operation in a meeting with Norwegian Cruise Line.
She also visited the largest cruise ship ever built, the Icon of the Seas, owned by Royal Caribbean, and had the opportunity to tour its premises as well as learn about the innovative technologies in various functions of the ship, which are designed with the aim of protecting the envi
ronment.
Deputy Minister met also with members of the Cypriot diaspora.
