Los Angeles: Veteran Spanish defender Sergio Ramos has expressed his excitement about the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup, which is set to take place this summer in the United States. He shared his thoughts on the tournament and its significance for clubs and players.

According to Anadolu Agency, Ramos praised the new format of the FIFA Club World Cup, emphasizing the platform it provides for teams to showcase their abilities. He stated, “It’s a great opportunity for each of us to showcase our level, not just individually but also as a team.”

Ramos acknowledged the growing interest in football within the US and Mexico, commenting on the strategic decision to host the tournament in the United States. He noted that while Europe has a longstanding passion for football, the sport is gaining traction in the US, which has traditionally been dominated by sports like American football and basketball.

The defender also highlighted the importance of support from Mexican fans in Los Angeles, mentioning the significant Mexican community in the area. He expressed that feeling the support of fans will be crucial for the teams competing away from their home countries.

Ramos remarked on the potential achievement for Monterrey should they win the cup, emphasizing the unpredictable nature of football. He stressed the importance of commitment, effort, and dedication, stating that these qualities are non-negotiable in the sport.
