? second ship is scheduled to leave the port of Larnaca for the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza towards the end of the week, CNA has learnt.
According to information CNA has obtained, the ship Jennifer, which will be the second vessel to carry humanitarian aid to Gaza by sea under Cyprus’ Amalthea Project, is expected to leave for its destination by the end of the week, and, most probably, on Saturday.
The Jennifer is to arrive to its destination in around three days, the same sources told CNA, since it will also tow the platform that the Open Arms ship had carried with it to Gaza. It is also expected that the Open Arms and an auxiliary vessel are to accompany the Jennifer for the transport of equipment.
The aim is to keep the platform, which was brought back to Larnaca by Open Arms for some repairs, in Gaza, the same sources said, noting that, in this way, subsequent ship trips to Gaza will take less time.
Both vessels, the Open Arms, which made the first humanitarian aid delivery to Gaza through La
rnaca port about two weeks ago, and the Jennifer, are part of missions organised by the non-governmental organisation, World Central Kitchen.
