Moscow: A Russian rocket has successfully launched a record-breaking 53 satellites into space, the Russian space agency Roscosmos announced on Tuesday. The launch took place from the Vostochny Cosmodrome, located in the Amur region in the Russian Far East.
According to Anadolu Agency, Roscosmos shared on Telegram that the mission set a new record for the number of Russian satellites placed into orbit simultaneously. The launch was carried out using the Soyuz-2.1 spacecraft, which included two satellites made in Iran, named Kowsar and Hodhod.
The two Iranian satellites mark a significant milestone as they are the first to be launched on behalf of Iran’s private sector, as reported by the Iranian state news agency IRNA. Tehran’s Ambassador to Moscow, Kazem Jalali, had mentioned on X a day prior that this launch represents a continuation of the scientific and technological cooperation between Iran and Russia.
