The Russian central bank was suspended Thursday from the Bank for International Settlements (BIS) amid Moscow’s war on Ukraine, according to a statement.
“The access of Central Bank of Russia to all BIS services, meetings and other BIS activities has been suspended,” a BIS spokesperson said in a statement.
“The BIS is following international sanctions against the Central Bank of Russia as applicable, and will not be an avenue for sanctions to be circumvented,” it said.
