ISTANBUL: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Russia is using Chinese satellites to photograph his country's nuclear energy facilities, US media outlets reported Tuesday. 'The recent information is that, Russia has been using Chinese satellites and taking photos of the details of the objects on nuclear facilities,' Zelenskyy told ABC News, which reported that the remarks came during an interview on Monday. "And in our experience, if Russia takes photos of certain objects, then there is a threat of strikes against the nuclear objects," said Zelenskyy. Zelenskyy said that he would share the 'nuclear terror' information in Kyiv's talks with leaders who can influence Russia. Zelenskyy's remarks come after Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha claimed Saturday that Russia is preparing strikes on Ukrainian nuclear facilities ahead of the winter, based on his country's intelligence. "In particular, it concerns open distribution devices at NPPs (nuclear power plants) and transmission substations, c ritical for the safe operation of nuclear energy," Sybiha wrote on X. Neither Russian nor Chinese authorities have commented on the claims. Source: Anadolu Agency
