Russia on Sunday claimed that Ukrainian forces continued their offensive during the past day on the front line in the directions of Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia.
'The most active actions took place in the Zaporizhzhia direction,' said a statement by the Russian Defense Ministry on Telegram, claiming that offensive attempts made in the region by Ukrainian forces were 'unsuccessful.'
The statement further claimed that four Ukrainian offensives were 'repelled' by 'the decisive actions of Russian units' in the South-Donetsk direction.
Eight offensives were stopped in the direction of Donetsk, the statement claimed, adding that a Ukrainian ammunition depot was hit by Russian forces.
Ukrainian authorities have not yet commented on the claims, and independent confirmation is difficult due to the ongoing war.
On June 10, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy declared that the Ukrainian army is taking "appropriate counteroffensive and defensive actions" against Russia on the front line.
