Rockets fired from Gaza after death of Palestinian hunger striker in Israeli prison

Three rockets were fired from Gaza toward Israel after a Palestinian hunger striker died in an Israeli prison, the Israeli military said on Tuesday. "3 rockets were launched from Gaza toward Israeli territory. No interceptors were launched in accordance with policy," a military statement said. The rockets fell in open areas and sirens sounded in southern localities of Israel, it added. This came after the announcement of Khader Adnan's demise in an Israeli prison. Adnan, 44, was on hunger strike for 87 days and his lawyer's request that he be released on bail had been rejected by the Israeli military court.
