Astana: Russian President Vladimir Putin has arrived in Kazakhstan’s capital, Astana, for a two-day state visit. Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev personally welcomed Putin at the Nursultan Nazarbayev International Airport, marking the beginning of a significant diplomatic engagement between the two countries.
According to Anadolu Agency, the Kremlin announced on Tuesday that Putin’s visit will feature talks with President Tokayev and an address to the plenary session of the 20th Russia-Kazakhstan Interregional Cooperation Forum via videoconference. This forum is a crucial platform for discussing bilateral cooperation and advancing mutual interests in various sectors.
Putin is also set to participate in a meeting of the Collective Security Council of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO). The meeting aims to review interactions within the alliance over the past year and will involve an exchange of views on pressing international and regional issues, highlighting the importance of sec
urity and cooperation among member states.
