The 54 th meeting of the Turkey-EU Association Council, the highest decision-making body established by the Ankara Agreement, to be held in Brussels March 15, 2019.
After an interval of almost four years, the meeting will be attended by Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu and Ambassador Faruk Kaymakci, Deputy Foreign Minister and Director of the EU, Federica Mogherini, High Representative Foreign Affairs and Security Policy / Vice-President of the European Commission, and Johannes Hahn, EU Commissioner for Enlargement and Neighborhood Policy
The Turkish and European Union parties will meet informally before the official session to discuss foreign policy issues and regional developments. At the Council meeting, in the presence of the representatives of the Member States, the parties will hold an exchange of views on different aspects of relations between Turkey and the EU, including accession negotiations, political criteria, economic criteria , alignment with the acquis communautaire, the visa liberalization dialogue, the customs union and financial cooperation.
