President Ghani Meets Turkish Chief Of Army Staff

Kabul (BNA) President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani met Holosi Akar, the chief of army staff of Turkey here yesterday and exchanged views on matters relating bilateral issues including strengthening relations between the two countries.

The Turkish dignitary said that his country attaches great importance to its friendship with Afghanistan. Turkey would continue to fight against terrorism inside in the region, the Turkish chief of army staff said. He also appreciated Afghanistan for being in the frontline in the war on terror. Turkey would continue its military and security cooperation with Afghanistan within the framework of NATO, the official asserted. For his part, president Ghani, described Afghanistan-Turkey relations as cordial and historic, adding the foundation of Afghan army is based on Turks experiences. Thanking Turkey for its contribution to Afghanistan within the framework of NATO and ISAF, president Ghani thanked his Turkish counterpart president Ordogan for attracting international community's support to Afghanistan.
