President Christodoulides departs Wednesday for Athens

President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides, departs Wednesday for Athens, where he will hold a meeting with the Greek Prime Minister and attend a series of events.

A written statement by Director of the Press Office of the President of the Republic Viktoras Papadopoulos says that President Christodoulides and his entourage will depart Wednesday for Athens, where in the morning they will attend a memorial event for Cypriot born Giannos Kranidiotis, Deputy Foreign Minister of Greece, who was killed in a plane incident 25 years ago.

The event is co-organized by the Athens Daily Newspaper Editors’ Association and the Embassy of the Republic of Cyprus in Athens. President of Cyprus will deliver an address at the event.

On Wednesday evening, President Christodoulides will address and attend a concert organized by the Archbishopric of Cyprus, the Federation of Cypriot Organizations in Greece, in collaboration with the “Den Lismono” (I don’t forget) Association on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the
Turkish invasion and continued occupation of Cyprus.

The next day in the morning, the President of the Republic will hold a tete a tete meeting with Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, at the Maximos Mansion.

In the evening, President Christodoulides, accompanied by his spouse Philippa Karsera Christodoulides, will attend the dinner of the Cyprus Shipowners’ Union, at the Union’s building “Cyprus Tower”, where he will deliver an address.

President Christodoulides and his entourage will return to Cyprus on September 20th.
