The successful implementation of the programs co-financed by the EU is a great challenge and not a single euro should be lost, President Nikos Christodoulides said on Friday, at the inauguration of the Child Protection and Activity Center at Agios Athanasios in Limassol district.
The Center was completed in the framework of the Recovery and Resilience Plan and is the first across the island to be located at an industrial zone.
In his speech the President said that such centers in industrial zones operate in many countries to give women and families the opportunity to work and offer and have equal access to the labor market.
He also said that the upgrade of industrial zones is an issue that was discussed with the competent minister.
The President went on to say that the modern way of life makes even more imperative the need to provide the necessary means to parents, in order to achieve the fitting together of family and professional life.
He congratulated the local authorities for their efforts to promote new initiatives and projects for the benefit of the community.
He also referred to actions by the government to promote social cohesion and to upgrade structures of social care and to projects underway in the framework of the Recovery and Resilience Plan.
The Center hosts children 2-4 years of age and next September a new class of pre-primary education will be added for children 4 to 5 years.
