The English Premier League on Thursday announced that the clubs will axe sports gambling sponsorships on the front of matchday shirts.
The agreement will begin at the end of the 2025-26 season, according to the statement.
However, under the new policy, the clubs will still be allowed to feature gambling brands in areas such as shirt sleeves and LED advertising.
The collective agreement is in line with the government's ongoing review of gambling legislation, the statement added.
The Premier League is also working on the development of a new code for responsible gambling sponsorship in unison with other sports, the organization said.
Many English clubs, including well-known clubs such as Everton, Leeds United, and Newcastle United, currently feature betting companies' ads on the front of their jerseys.
