VATICAN CITY: Pope Francis welcomed the cease-fire agreement reached in Lebanon during his traditional Sunday prayer from the window of his office overlooking St. Peter’s Square in the Vatican. He expressed hope that this glimmer of peace could lead to a cease-fire on all other fronts.
According to Anadolu Agency, Pope Francis also voiced his concern for other regions embroiled in conflict, including Gaza, Syria, and Ukraine. He emphasized his deep concern for the release of Israeli hostages and reiterated the urgent need for humanitarian aid to reach the exhausted Palestinian population.
The pope urged all to engage in efforts to provide aid and hope to those in war-torn regions, stating that the pursuit of peace is the responsibility of everyone. He warned against becoming desensitized and indifferent to the horrors of war, as such attitudes lead to the defeat of all humanity.
