Paramedic injured in Israeli artillery shelling in central Gaza

A paramedic was injured Tuesday in Israeli artillery shelling in the central Gaza Strip, according to the Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS).

‘Israeli tank artillery targets the vicinity area of two PRCS ambulances, while injured persons and martyrs were being transported,’ it said on X.

The attack took place in the Im Al-Thuheir area, south of Deir Al-Balah city.

‘One paramedic was lightly injured and the ambulances were damaged,’ it added.

Israel resumed air and ground attacks Friday on the Gaza Strip after the end of a weeklong humanitarian pause with the Palestinian group, Hamas.

At least 15,899 Palestinians have been killed and more than 42,000 injured since Israel launched a massive military campaign on the Gaza Strip following a cross-border attack by Hamas on Oct. 7, according to Gaza’s health authorities.

The Israeli death toll in the Hamas attack stood at 1,200, according to official figures.
