Istanbul: Taha Ciftci, chairman of the Digital Transformation Sector Board of Trkiye’s Industrialists and Businessmen’s Association (MUSIAD), emphasized the critical importance of “our cyber borders,” equating them with the nation’s land, sea, and air borders. Ciftci’s remarks came ahead of the Cyber Power Trkiye 2024 Summit, scheduled to take place on Wednesday, organized by MUSIAD to focus on the country’s digital defense strategies.
According to Anadolu Agency, Ciftci pointed to recent global cybersecurity incidents, such as the pager explosions in Lebanon and security challenges with firms like CrowdStrike and Microsoft, underscoring the heightened significance of cybersecurity. The summit will address two primary topics: the digital world’s defense line and the implications of artificial intelligence in warfare.
Ciftci revealed plans to foster collaboration between entrepreneurs and investors, aiming to globalize Turkish companies. He highlighted the association’s commitment to supporting cybersecurity
enterprises, noting the allocation of 18 free-standing areas for entrepreneurs at the summit.
He further elaborated on the synergy between artificial intelligence and cybersecurity, stressing the pivotal role of data mastery. “Data is so important here. In order to model artificial intelligence, you need to master the data,” Ciftci stated. He suggested that combining data expertise with cybersecurity could significantly amplify the impact of cyber defense and offense strategies.
