Odesa: At least two individuals sustained injuries in Ukraine’s southwestern Odesa region following an overnight drone attack by Russian forces, as reported by local authorities on Sunday. The assault, which targeted civilian areas, resulted in hospitalizations and significant damage to local infrastructure.
According to Anadolu Agency, Odesa Governor Oleh Kiper conveyed via Telegram that the two injured individuals are currently in moderate condition. Efforts are underway by relevant services to address the aftermath of the attack, which impacted six residential buildings and a gas station in the region.
Ukraine’s Air Force reported that 62 out of 145 Russian drones launched across 13 regions, including Odesa, were intercepted by air defenses. Additionally, local authorities noted damage from the drone attacks in the Kharkiv and Khmelnytskyi regions.
In response to these events, Russia’s Defense Ministry later issued a statement asserting that their operations had targeted military airfields, warehouses,
and energy facilities in Ukraine, which they claim are used for military-industrial purposes.
