Ninety fixed traffic cameras to operate by end of March 2024

By the end of March 2024, a total of 90 fixed traffic cameras will operate at 30 locations on roads across Cyprus, while as of tomorrow, February 5, the gradual operation of traffic cameras is expected at another 12 locations, in Nicosia, Limassol and Larnaca, the Cyprus Police says in an announcement.

The Police aims with the installation of traffic violation control cameras, to control and prevent violations, which have been proven to be the main causes of fatal and serious road accidents.

Currently fixed traffic cameras operate at 18 locations in the districts of Nicosia, Limassol, Larnaca and Paphos, while at the same time 20 mobile cameras operate daily on the roads of Cyprus.

Starting from tomorrow, February 5th, the gradual operation of fixed traffic cameras is expected in another 12 places, in Nicosia, Limassol and Larnaca. In this way, it is expected that by the end of March 2024, a total of 90 fixed cameras will be in operation, at 30 locations on the road network.

ary 5, another eight cameras will be put into operation, in four places in Limassol and Larnaca.

By the end of March 2024, another 18 cameras are expected to operate at six locations in Limassol (starting at the end of February) and another six cameras at two locations in Nicosia.
