Nine Injured as Rockets from Lebanon Strike Israel’s Upper Galilee.

Karmiel: Nine Israelis were injured, including one critically, on Friday after rockets launched from Lebanon struck the town of Karmiel in Israel’s Upper Galilee, Israeli media reported. Channel 13 reported that sirens sounded across Karmiel and nearby areas in northern Israel before the rockets impact, which injured multiple residents.

According to Anadolu Agency, the Israeli army confirmed that it detected 30 rockets launched from Lebanese territory toward Upper Galilee, according to a statement. The army noted that ‘several rockets were intercepted, while others struck within the region.’

Separately, Hezbollah announced on Friday targeting Karmiel in the Upper Galilee with a “rocket salvo.” It added that its fighters targeted the settlements of Ma’alot-Tarshiha and Kiryat Shmona in northern Israel with rockets.

Israel launched a massive air campaign last month in Lebanon against what it claims are Hezbollah targets in an escalation in a year of cross-border warfare between Israel and the group since the
start of Israel’s brutal offensive on Gaza. Nearly 2,900 people have been killed and more than 13,000 injured in Israeli attacks since last October, according to Lebanese health authorities.
