Newly Ministers and other officials assume duties on Wednesday

The swearing-in ceremony of the new Ministers, Deputy Ministers and Commissioners will take place at 08.30 on Wednesday at the Presidential Palace, in the presence of the President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides.

Following a decision by the President of the Republic to proceed on Monday 8 January with a partial government reshuffle, Vasilis Palmas is appointed Minister of Defence, Maria Panayiotou is appointed Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment, Marios Hartsiotis is appointed Minister of Justice and Public Order, Michalis Damianos is appointed Minister of Health, Nicodemos Damianou is appointed Deputy Minister for Innovation, Research and Digital Policy and Marilena Raouna is appointed Deputy Minister for European Affairs.

In addition, Panayiotis Palates is appointed Commissioner for the Citizen, Charalambos Christofinas is appointed Commissioner for Mountainous Areas and Antonia Theodosiou is appointed Commissioner for the Environment.

Regarding the handover/reception cere
monies of the Ministries and the Deputy Ministry, it has been announced that at 10.30 a.m. the ceremony will be held at the Ministry of Defence, at 11.15 a.m. at the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment, at 12 noon. p.m. at the Ministry of Justice and Public Order, 12.45 p.m. at the Ministry of Health, 1.30 p.m. at the State Department of Research, Innovation and Digital Policy, and at 2.15 p.m. the ceremony for the new Environment Commissioner will take place.
