MotoGP: Bagnaia comes second in Catalan Sprint Race

Italy's MotoGP world champion Francesco Bagnaia extended his lead at the top of the riders' standings by finishing second at the Catalan Grand Prix Sprint Race in Barcelona on Saturday.

Aprilia's Aleix Espargaro won the race, with his team mate Maverick Vinales completing the podium.

Ducati factory team rider Bagnaia, who qualified for Sunday's main event in pole position earlier on Saturday, has 260 points, 66 more than second-placed Jorge Martín of the Prima Pramac Racing team.

Spaniard Martin came fifth in the Sprint Race while Italian Marco Bezzecchi, who is third in the standings with 185 points, came eighth.
