ISTANBUL: Mexico’s unemployment rate rose to 2.8% in November on a seasonally adjusted rate, according to official statistics released Thursday.
While the figure came in line with market expectations, it is up 0.2 percentage points from 2.6% in October.
The economically active population was 59.8 million in November, or 827,000 more than the same month last year, according to the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI) figures.
In November, 58.2 million people, or 97.3%, were employed among the economically active population — 911,000 more compared to the same month in 2022.
The unemployed population was 1.6 million in November, while the unemployment rate was 2.7% of the economically active population.
