Marios Georgiou wins bronze medal at European Gymnastics Championships

Cypriot gymnast Marios Georgiou clinched the bronze medal in the Pommel Horse event at the European Gymnastics Championships held in Rimini, Italy, on Friday. Georgiou's impressive performance earned him a total score of 14,800 points, securing him a spot on the podium alongside Ireland's Rhys McClenaghan, who claimed gold with 15,300 points, and Netherlands' Loran De Munck, who took home silver with 14.933 points. Georgiou had recently been crowned European Champion in the Individual All-Around, a title that also secured his ticket to the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. The Cyprus Gymnastics Federation (CGF), in a social media post, warmly congratulated Georgiou on his remarkable achievement and wished him success in the upcoming finals in the Vault and Parallel Bars events.
