Los Angeles street takeover ends with large crowd looting gas station

A street takeover in Los Angeles early Sunday morning was followed by a big mob knocking down a gas station's door and stealing thousands of dollars in goods.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department told local news in Compton that a large crowd blocked the four-way intersection with automobiles drifting in circles and tires squealing loudly at 2.30 a.m.

This was followed by a mob ransacking a store that contained thousands of dollars worth of alcohol and food. The gas station and convenience store sustained severe damage as a result of the looting.

It was stated that the crowd, which consisted of roughly 100 people, dispersed in all directions quickly after the looting.

Investigators said shots were fired about a block away from the store although no injuries were reported.
