Lebanon, Egypt close airspaces after Iran’s attack on Israel

ISTANBUL: Lebanon and Egypt said Sunday they closed their airspaces following Iran’s drone attacks against Israel.

Lebanon’s transportation minister said on X that his country’s airspace will be temporarily closed to all flights from 1 a.m. to 7 a.m. local time as a precautionary measure.

Ali Hamieh said during those hours, the only airport, Rafic Hariri International Airport, will be closed, with updates provided based on developments.

Iran launched dozens of drones toward Israel in response to an April 1 attack on its consulate in Syria, which killed senior military commanders, Iranian and Israeli sources confirmed.
