BISHKEK: Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov on Tuesday announced the elevation of Kyrgyzstan’s ties with Trkiye to a comprehensive strategic partnership. This significant development was revealed during a joint news conference with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Bishkek, marking a milestone in the bilateral relations between the two nations.
According to Anadolu Agency, the announcement follows the sixth meeting of the Trkiye-Kyrgyzstan High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council. During the meeting, leaders discussed a variety of topics, including trade, education, culture, humanitarian cooperation, and military matters. One notable agreement reached was the expansion of the Turkish Maarif Foundation’s educational network across all regions of Kyrgyzstan.
President Japarov expressed gratitude towards President Erdogan for the decision to cancel Kyrgyzstan’s debt to Trkiye, emphasizing Bishkek’s commitment to improving conditions for both domestic and foreign investors. The discussions also included fut
ure collaboration in the health sector, with proposals to consider establishing more medical institutions in Kyrgyzstan.
As a culmination of the council’s discussions, bilateral agreements were signed covering a wide range of sectors, including health, energy, economy and finance, agriculture, digitalization, security, and culture. These agreements symbolize the strengthened cooperation and commitment between Kyrgyzstan and Trkiye, paving the way for future joint initiatives and projects across multiple domains.
