The Cypriot sailor Pavlos Kontidis confirmed his presence among the world’s sailing elite, at the Adelaide World Championship. Kontides ranked in the first six places in the World Championship, for a 10th consecutive time in a major sports event.
According to a Press Release, the 34-year-old sailor finished fourth in the medal race and gained one place in the overall ranking, moving up to sixth.
Kontides reached 79 penalty points and overtook French Jean Baptiste Bernaz (86b), who was ninth in the medal race.
“I am sure that if the World Championship started now, the result would be better’, he said noting however that he is happy that he is steady in the elite of the world wailing.
