The World E-commerce Forum brought together e-commerce giants in the Turkish metropolis Istanbul on Wednesday.
The event, which will continue until Sept. 30, brought together around 20,000 participants from 34 counties, according to a press release issued by organizers.
“We foresee a transaction volume of $2.5 billion in the forum, where 150,000 B2B meetings are planned,” said Omer Nart, the head of the event organizer Worldef.
Emre Ekmekci, the head of a Turkish association on e-commerce firms, said: “Exports’ share in Türkiye’s overall trade is 20% but the e-commerce’s share in exports is around 1%, so, there is an important potential.”
Worldef plans to organize the next event in Las Vegas, Nevada in March 2023.
