Israeli police opened an investigation Tuesday into far-right Knesset member Zvika Fogel on suspicion of inciting terrorism.
A police statement said Fogel was summoned for interrogation at the National Fraud Investigation Unit.
Fogel is a member of the far-right Jewish Power Party, led by National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir.
Last month, Fogel showed support for an attack by Israeli settlers on the Palestinian town of Huwara in the occupied West Bank. A Palestinian was killed and several homes and cars were vandalized in the attack.
"Huwara is burnt and besieged. This is exactly what I want to see,' Fogel said in an interview with Israeli Army Radio following the attack.
The settler attack has triggered a storm of condemnations from around the world.
