Tulkarem: Two Palestinians, including a child, were killed early Thursday morning in an Israeli drone strike in the Nur Shams refugee camp located in Tulkarem city, within the northern occupied West Bank. The Health Ministry confirmed the fatalities, describing the victims as “two martyrs in Nur Shams refugee camp in Tulkarem as a result of an (Israeli) occupation airstrike.”
According to Anadolu Agency, the official Palestinian news agency Wafa reported that the Israeli army, accompanied by bulldozers, launched a raid on Tulkarem and its Nur Shams refugee camp at an early hour. The bulldozers reportedly began demolishing infrastructure and properties within the camp, escalating tensions in the area.
The Palestinian agency further detailed the intense clashes and explosions occurring in the camp, underscoring the presence of drones overhead. This incident is part of a broader pattern of heightened tension across the West Bank, attributed to Israel’s ongoing military operations in the Gaza Strip. These oper
ations have resulted in the deaths of over 43,100 people, predominantly women and children, following a cross-border incursion by Hamas in October of last year.
The Palestinian Health Ministry has reported that at least 766 Palestinians have been killed and approximately 6,300 injured by Israeli military actions in the West Bank. The current conflict is exacerbated by a July ruling from the International Court of Justice, which deemed Israel’s prolonged occupation of Palestinian territories as ‘illegal’ and called for the dismantling of Israeli settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
