Gaza City: The Israeli army issued evacuation warnings Wednesday for new areas in northern Gaza ahead of bombings. ‘Residents of the neighborhoods of Tal al-Zaatar, Al-Noor, Al-Rawda, Al-Salam, Al-Nahda, Al-Tuffah, Al-Zuhur, Sheikh Zayed, Al-Manshiyah, and Jabalia Camp must evacuate immediately,’ Israeli army spokesperson Avichay Adraee said in a statement on X. Adraee stated that ‘this is a prior and final warning before the attack’ on these neighborhoods, which are located in Beit Hanoun and Jabalia.
According to Anadolu Agency, Adraee urged, ‘For your safety, you must immediately move to shelter centers in Gaza City,’ despite the absence of functioning shelters in the area. Israeli evacuation warnings have persisted across various parts of the Gaza Strip. On Tuesday, the army issued orders to evacuate several neighborhoods in Beit Hanoun and Beit Lahiya in northern Gaza, including the Beit Lahia Project area and the neighborhoods of Sheikh Zayed, Al-Manshiyah, and Tal al-Zaatar. This was followed by anot
her evacuation warning for areas in Rafah city of southern Gaza.
Previously, on Saturday, the Israeli army issued similar evacuation orders for residents of three towns in the city of Khan Younis, also located in the southern part of the Gaza Strip. Israeli forces commenced a surprise aerial campaign on Gaza on March 18, resulting in the deaths of more than 1,000 people and injuries to over 2,000, effectively ending a January ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement between Israel and the Palestinian resistance group Hamas.
Prior to the resumption of its military actions in Gaza, Israel closed Gaza crossings in early March, blocking the entry of humanitarian aid and essential goods to the Palestinian enclave. More than 50,400 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza since October 2023 due to Israel’s military actions, with the majority of the victims being women and children.
The International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants last November for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Def
ense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza. Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its actions in the enclave.
