Israeli army kills 3 Palestinians during raids across occupied West Bank

ANKARA: The Israeli army early on Wednesday killed three Palestinians and demolished a home during raids across the occupied West Bank.

According to the official Palestinian news agency Wafa, a Palestinian was shot dead and another injured in Tubas city, in the northern West Bank, by the Israeli forces.

It identified the slain Palestinian as Abdel-Naser Sarhan, an officer with the Palestinian Authority’s customs police.

The Israeli army also killed another Palestinian, identified as Ahmed Aslan, during a raid in the Qalandia refugee camp, north of occupied East Jerusalem, to demolish a Palestinian home that triggered clashes with Palestinians.

The demolished home belongs to Palestinian Mohammad Manasra who was killed by the Israeli army in February after carrying out an attack that killed two Israeli settlers.

In Tulkarem city, Wafa also reported a third Palestinian killed by the Israeli forces which raided the city.

Tensions have been running high across the occupied West Bank amid a deadly Israeli off
ensive that killed over 39,000 people in the Gaza Strip since Oct. 7, 2023.

Nearly 590 Palestinians have since been killed and nearly 5,400 others injured by Israeli army fire in the occupied West Bank, according to the Health Ministry.

The International Court of Justice, in an advisory opinion on Friday, declared Israel’s decades-long occupation of Palestinian land “unlawful” and should be brought to an end “as rapidly as possible.”
