Inflation down from 1.1% in Aug to 0.7% in Sep

Istat on Wednesday confirmed its preliminary estimate of September inflation at 0.7%, down from 1.1% in August.

It is the lowest level recorded since the beginning of the year.

The deceleration is mainly due to the prices of energy goods, both regulated (from +14.3% to +10.4%) and non-regulated (from -8.6% to -11.0%).

On the other hand, the estimates for the prices of the so-called “shopping cart” rose in September to +1.0% from +0.6% in August.
