Industrial output marks new annual gains in February

Industrial production in Cyprus exhibited annual rise for second consecutive month in February, according to data released by the Statistical Service of Cyprus (Cystat).

The Industrial Production Index in February reached 103.4 units (base 2021=100), recording an increase of 6.7% compared to February 2023. In January the index recorded annual gains of 4.2%.

For the period January – February 2024, the index recorded an increase of 5.8% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.

The manufacturing sector registered an increase of 6.9% compared to February 2023.

Gains were observed in the sectors of water supply and materials recovery with 33,8%, whereas mining and quarrying rose by 29.3%.

A negative change was observed in the electricity supply sector 5.2%, Cystat added.
