The median income in real terms of households whose main provider was self-employed – including professionals, entrepreneurs, company managers or partners and atypical workers – grew on average 2.8% between 2020 and 2022 compared to the +0,8% recorded by the households of employees, according to the 2022 survey on the income of Italian familiess published by the Bank of Italy on Wednesday.
Over the two years considered by the survey, the median income of households relying on pensions fell by 2.6% and dropped by 15,4% for those relying on other benefits, according to the survey.
