President of the House of Representatives Annita Demetriou has expressed her appreciation towards Jordan for the firm positions of principles that the country maintains as regards the Cyprus issue.
Demetriou, who received Monday Ambassador of Jordan to Cyprus, Mohamad Sharari El-Fayez, on the occasion of his departure, thanked the Ambassador for the excellent cooperation of the Jordan Embassy with the House of Representatives during his term in office and for his substantial contribution to further strengthening the excellent relations between Cyprus and Jordan and the two friendly peoples.
According to a press release by the Parliament, Demetriou also expressed sincere appreciation for the firm position of principles that Jordan maintains in terms of solving the Cyprus problem.
The Ambassador thanked the President of the House for the close cooperation developed with the House of Representatives and underlined the excellent level of relations and cooperation between Cyprus and Jordan.
He also said that there are opportunities to expand the synergies of the two countries in areas of mutual interest in the near future, based on the strong ties between them and their common commitment to the goal the promotion of peace, stability and prosperity in the wider region.
