House of Representatives President pays Paris a visit this week

House of Representatives President, Annita Demetriou, travels to Paris on Tuesday, for a visit to the French capital between January 17 and 19, during which she will have a series of contacts.

At the French National Assembly, Demetriou is to meet with House President, Yaël Braun-Pivet, in the presence of President of the Foreign Affairs Committee, Jean-Louis Bourlanges, President of the France-Cyprus Friendship Group in the National Assembly, Laurent Alexandre, and deputy representative of the French expatriates, Meyer Habib, a House of Representatives press release issued on Monday says.

She is to also hold a meeting with the President and members of the France-Cyprus Friendship Group at the French National Assembly, it adds.

Demetriou is to also hold a meeting with the President of the French Senate, Gérard Larcher, in the presence of the Vice-President of the Senate, responsible for inter-parliamentary cooperation and Friendship Groups, Loïc Hervé, the President of the Committee on Foreign Affairs, Def
ence and Armed Forces, Cédric Perrin and the President of the France-Cyprus Friendship Group in the French Senate, Samantha Cazebonne.

She will attend part of the Plenary session, during which President Larcher will welcome her presence, it said. Demetriou is to also attend a session of the Committee on Foreign Affairs, Defence and Armed Forces and will exchange views with the President and members of the Committee on matters of common interest to the two countries.

According to the press release, in the context of a special ceremony at the Senate, the House Speaker will honour the former President and current member of the Committee on Foreign Affairs, Defence and Armed Forces, Christian Cambon, for all his work in favour of Cyprus and his contribution to the further deepening of relations between France and Cyprus.

During her visit, the House of Representatives President will also hold contacts with the Cypriot community in France.
