Leader of the Lebanese Forces Party, Samir Geagea, said at a press conference held this Wednesday in Maarab that "this government was formed on a clear basis, which is to put aside the differences in exchange for attention to people's issues."
"There has been a violation of the agreement on the basis of which the government was formed -- an attack by Sayyed Nasrallah on the Gulf States and other violations," Geagea said, however.
"We were surprised by some ministers' suggestion to make official visits to Syria," he said, noting that "what happened today is an attempt to give political impetus to the Syrian regime."
"We will not accept any formal dealings between the Lebanese government and the so-called Syrian government, and any minister who desires to visit Syria can do so in his personal capacity and not as a formal commissioner from Lebanon," Geagea said, wishing upon the Cabinet to take a clear position thereon, amid these circumstances.
He pointed out that "there are governments such as Turkey and Jordan which found solutions to the crisis of the displaced without having to contact the Syrian regime."
"The Army's mission is to carry out an attack on Daesh and clean up the mountains. It has nothing to do with the Syrian interior," he concluded.
