Gaza: At least 25 more Palestinians were killed in Israeli airstrikes in the Gaza Strip, bringing the overall death toll from Israel’s war since October 2023 to 50,208, the Health Ministry said on Thursday. A ministry statement also revealed that 82 more injured individuals were transferred to hospitals in the last 24 hours, increasing the number of injuries to 113,910 in the ongoing Israeli onslaught. The statement further noted that many victims remain trapped under rubble and on roads, with rescuers unable to reach them.
According to Anadolu Agency, the Israeli army initiated a surprise aerial campaign on the Gaza Strip on March 18, resulting in 855 deaths and nearly 1,900 injuries, despite a ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement that took effect in January. The situation has drawn international attention, particularly regarding legal actions against Israeli officials.
Last November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, accusing them of war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza. Additionally, Israel faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its actions in the enclave.
