ANKARA: The French president warned Tuesday against “cowardice” in Europe in the face of the war in Ukraine.
“Europe was cut in two by, we must say it right, cowardice, and the will of a part of Europe to not see the difficulties of the other, hence leaving (Europe’s) fate to totalitarianism,” Emmanuel Macron told the French community members during an official visit in the Czech capital Prague.
“We are certainly at the wake of a Europe moment where it would not suit to be coward,” he stressed.
The war is back in European territories, and “powers that became unstoppable” are extending their threats every day, Macron further said, and added: “We must be up to history, and the courage it entails.”
The French leader hailed cooperation with the Czech Republic and announced that the two countries will sign a strategic partnership action plan, which includes defense topics, energy, and transportation, as well as culture and science.
